GOOGLE NOW LINKS TO THE INTERNET ARCHIVE FOR DEEPER SEARCH INSIGHTS

As of right now, Google search results will include a direct connection to The Internet Archive, providing a more comprehensive look back at the sites that appear in your search results. Even though Google has always been a portal to a wealth of information, there are situations when you need to know a page’s past since it may have undergone recent changes. Previously, you could access some of this context through cached pages, but that feature was removed earlier this year.

You may now investigate a link’s much longer history thanks to this integration. Google has released a sneak peek at the final design of this feature, even though the deployment is still ongoing. This update aims to shed light on websites’ journeys, acting as a kind of time capsule that shows the transformations they’ve undergone.

GOOGLE MAPS NOW DISPLAYS BUSINESS PHOTOS IN REVIEW SENTIMENTS

Google is now adding business-submitted images from Google Business Profiles to the Google Local and Maps sentiments section. These images, which the business uploaded, are shown above the reviews and are connected to the comments that customers make.

Although this functionality has been mentioned previously, Claudia Tomina now brought attention to the fact that Google is now displaying business-uploaded images in addition to those supplied by customers on X. “Google is now showcasing photos in review sentiments,” Claudia said. These are company-uploaded images, not ones taken by customers. Photos have an impact!”

GOOGLE ADS TO RETIRE ENHANCED CPC BY MARCH 2025

Advertisers using Google Ads have been notified that Enhanced cost-per-click (eCPC) will be phased down in March 2025. Campaigns that were previously utilising eCPC will switch to Manual CPC bidding.

The email states that new Search and Display Ads campaigns will not have the option to use Enhanced CPC starting in October 2024. On the other hand, current campaigns will keep using eCPC through March 2025. All Search and Display Ads campaigns employing Enhanced CPC after that date will automatically convert to Manual CPC bidding.

These updates signal continuous improvements across various platforms, whether through bug fixes in WordPress, enhanced tools for YouTube Shorts, or Google’s evolving search and advertising features. Staying informed on these changes allows users to leverage new functionalities and optimise their online presence.
