WORDPRESS 6.3 IMPROVES LCP SCORE
Good news for all WordPress users! The upcoming version 6.3 of WordPress is set to significantly improve Core Web Vitals scores, especially with regards to Largest Contentful Paint (LCP). If you’re unfamiliar with LCP, it measures how long it takes your site to render the largest image or text block, which directly impacts user experience. WordPress estimates that this change should enhance LCP performance by 5-10%.
INSTAGRAM TESTS AUTO-ADDED PRODUCT TAGS
Instagram is currently testing a new feature that automatically detects products from a company’s catalogue and highlights them in Stories posts. Users have the flexibility to remove or edit these product tags as needed. This feature builds on the previous product tags option introduced for feed posts last April. To utilise this feature, businesses will need to have a connected catalogue.
GOOGLE SEARCH ROLLS OUT SITE NAME UPDATES AND WORKAROUNDS
Google has implemented essential updates to its site names feature in Google Search. Now, site names are supported on subdomains across all devices and are available in English, French, German, and Japanese languages. Additionally, Google has introduced workarounds in case it incorrectly identifies your site name. These updates aim to improve search visibility and user experience.
WOOCOMMERCE MERCHANTS CAN NOW SELL DIRECTLY ON TIKTOK
WooCommerce has exciting news for merchants in the United States! They have partnered with TikTok to invite all WooCommerce shop owners to a new program that enables direct marketing to TikTok users from a TikTok Shop. This program, currently in Beta, grants access to an audience of over 150 million users, 61% of whom engage in ecommerce behaviour. Early adopters have the opportunity to sell products on TikTok before it opens to more merchants.
ADROLL & WOOCOMMERCE PARTNER TO OFFER UNIFIED MARKETING SOLUTION
AdRoll and WooCommerce have joined forces to offer ecommerce merchants a unified marketing platform. This partnership aims to provide personalized marketing solutions to boost merchant sales and revenue. Together, they intend to maximize return on ad spend and capture more sales for online businesses.
TIKTOK INTRODUCES TEXT POSTS TO EFFORTLESSLY ENGAGE WITH FOLLOWERS
TikTok continues to enhance user creativity and self-expression by expanding its text posts feature. This move diversifies the content creation experience on the platform, offering space for written creativity beyond comments, captions, and videos. TikTok is committed to staying innovative in the realm of social media.
TWITTER REBRANDS TO X, REPLACES THE ICONIC BIRD LOGO
In a surprising move, Twitter, now owned by Elon Musk, has undergone a rebranding. The platform is officially renamed as “X,” and the iconic blue bird logo has been replaced by a white stylised “X” on a black-themed background. While typing the domain “X.com” will currently redirect users to “twitter.com,” it may become the official domain in the future. The new logo “X” now adorns the top left of the Twitter homepage.
