WORDPRESS DROPS SECURITY SUPPORT FOR OLDER INSTALLATIONS

For installations using versions 3.7 to 4.0, WordPress issued a three-month warning that it is stopping all security updates. A permanent notification that cannot be ignored will be displayed on the impacted installations.

Out of date WordPress installations

WordPress versions 3.7 – 4.0 will no longer receive security updates beginning on December 1, 2022.

Anyone using these out-of-date versions of WordPress will put their sites at risk for hacking after the final date of support.

The reason given for dropping security support is that the WordPress core development team can better focus on updating the latest versions without the burden of keeping older versions up to date.

Beginning on December 1, 2022, security updates for WordPress versions 3.7 through 4.0 will stop.

After the support for these outdated versions of WordPress ends, anyone still using them exposes their websites to hacking attacks.

Dropping security support is being done so that the WordPress core development team may concentrate more on updating the most recent versions without having to worry about keeping older versions up to date.

MICROSOFT RELEASES MULTIMEDIA ADS

Microsoft announced new ad types last week that would be displayed at the top of Bing search results, Windows 11, and Microsoft Start. They come in fresh video and image formats. The multimedia advertisement sticks out because Microsoft claims there will only be one on each page.

Additionally, it implies that the cost of that digital space will probably be high. You can extract and alter photos from your website using the new advertising’ compatibility with Creator tools.
